The clock was switched out with this 4x20 crystalfontz display. Connected through a serial port (yeah, that white cable beneath the glove box) to winamp.
Winamp was running as the shell in of Windows 98 'Lite', with a plugin that took care of the LCD output and the numpad jukebox system.

This is how my first carputer looked like. The specs:
Intel Pentium 166Mhz MMX on a standard AT motherboard
150W Power Inverter
~20GB harddrive
The second carputer was a small form factor case.

This is how my first car looked. I think it was a 1983 or 1984 model.
The car was sold after it and all my carputer and stereo equipment was stolen.

This is how my fan looked like when powered on. The green bulb acted as a resistor (6v on the bulb, 3v on each LED) for it to run of the same 12V as the fan.

I did this mod a couple of years before you could by fans with lighting.

As you can see, I went for the external power transfer, instead of the internal 'through-the-motor' approach.
