Update July 24, 2008, Thursday

Yesterday, we finally got the figure we asked the mortgage company Wachovia to make our house payments current. We are asked to pay $16,000 plus. I was able to raise $4,000 from gifts and KK prints sale and with our own $6,000, we are still short of $6,000. We tried to pay them $10,000 but they are not accepting partial payments.

If you can help, like buy my arts or any support you can provide, please do. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to all our friends who send their gifts of love, bought KK prints and send prayers and supporting messages.

I can't express more how grateful we are for the overwhelming love we received from all of you. Deeply appreciated.

Update July 14, 2008, Monday

Thanks everyone who helped me and my family through your financial aid as well as ordering prints of my work.

Me and my wife went to the bank as advised by our lawyer to request the outstanding amount to make our house payment current and stop the foreclosure. We have asked the bank for two weeks now and they have not sent us the reinstatement quote that we needed.

Our house is scheduled to be auctioned tomorrow, July 15. But we managed to ask them to suspend it and we were given 5 more days to raise the money. We also asked them that it will help us a lot to make our mortgage current if we will be given another month.

It is still under negotiation.

St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church Built in 1925 as a gift from Edward L. Doheny; designed by Albert C. Martin in the Spanish baroque style, with a mix of California mission architecture. It has an unusual placement; at the request of the Dohenys, it was built at a 45 degree angle to the intersection of Adams Boulevard and Figueroa Street.This was to prevent commercial buildings from blocking the beauty of the church. It is a parodic holiday invented in 1995 by John Baur ("Ol' Chumbucket") and Mark Summers ("Cap'n Slappy"), of the United States, who proclaimed September 19 each year as the day when everyone in the world should talk like a pirate. For example, an observer of this holiday would greet friends not with "Hello," but with "Ahoy, me haarrty!" The date was selected because it was the birthday of Summers' ex-wife and consequently would be easy for him to remember.

I got more animals to showcase. However, the response that I'm getting with the animals was not favorable and I can easily get bored with a series especially when it lacks support from my friends.

So, I'm back with my first love. The Wheels.

I started working on this with Photomatix. First, I tried my old extreme style that made me known to the HDR world. I was praised and in some quarters, got stoned too. However, I was not happy with the old result and decided to go for a subtle HDR.

Then, I loaded the HDR image to Photoshop CS2 to work on levels, saturations, curves, etc. And still, I was not at all satisfied.

Finally, I decided to play with my imagination. The funny thing is that I came out with something HDR is not supposed to be. HDR in my opinion is a flat image where highlights and shadows are on equal terms. I'm not a proponent of the flat HDR image where the shadows are almost eliminated. I love my image to be composed of lights and shadows. So, this is the final image where I wish will win your most coveted approval.

In summary, this is 1/3 Photomatix, 1/3 Photoshop and 1/3 KK Touch.
