I'm interested to know if Kristopher and Thomas have a list of feature/bug priorities. For me, it's all very well having these nice new features like groups, but I'd love to see the return of some old features. My priority list is as follows (in order of importance to me):
- EXIF/IPTC fixes (tags seem to work, but I'm not upload anything new until the title and caption fields work)
- Smartsets (frankly, I can't believe these are still not working)
- Favourites (i.e. fave lists)
- RSS feeds
- API
What do you want to see fixed/added/restored in the near future?

favorites smartsets stats (number of comments, favs and watchers - on your startsite) . it´s allways said by thomas, that they´re working on the bugs und features - is there a timeplan? is it possible to say, when features will be released?

Boomerang, I don't know of any public timeplan or roadmap anywhere. All I've got to go on are reassurances from Thomas Hawk that all of these things are "known issues", and are "being worked on". There's a new group, ' Vote for features', where the idea is to use responses to different threads as votes for particular features/bug fixes. If more people use it, then perhaps Thomas and Kristopher can get an idea of the community's expected priorities.

thx for the link, dave.

for me, the following: 1. ability to see how many views and comments are made on my photos by just looking at the gallery list preview. 2. Capability to change profile icon. 3. get the API work, and put RSS of my zooomr album into my blog site

@dimaks: next to every image in your stream should be a "Use this photo as your avatar?" link to the avatar builder...

There is no list of priorities at present. Right now it is very important though for Zooomr to secure additional funding and at least some of the development will be centered around doing things that can help us get this funding or optimizing Pro accounts.

Any updates on the new Zooomr Mobile development/funding?

It's coming along nicely actually. Kristopher is working very hard but nothing that we can publicly report yet. Soon.

Well I think setting a list of priorities is a very good idea. Some vital mark III features don't work properly which compromises the functionality of the site and frustrates users. Perharps instead of launching new features, old ones should be taken care. This is just my opinion and above all I think kris has done a terrific job with zooomr and I congratulate him for that.
Priorities (I don't ask too much): - Sets (Smart and manual ones) - Exif/IPTC - Tag cloud

Where to begin? :-), a noob on board... For starters - how about a useful "help" section describing how to use the features on the site? dampen the learning curve some...
Pointing at links e.g. the "quote post" link, changes its color from blue to white, on white background - can anything be done? The "delete post" is just fine...
The distinction between photographic-theme groups, and discussion groups such as this one, is a bit fuzzy... at least for a flickr renegade... can we have some order in terminology?
does anybody know whether the above issues are apparent also in the pro account?

Trying to post a comment - screen freezes at the "posting comment" stage... wait... wait...wait...nothing happens. refresh the screen, message not posted. retype, post - same thing. Did it once more - same thing. This isn't good.

My last - this is tiring... this happened several times: after clicking a photo, its page appeared, immediately followed by the system message " Internet explorer cannot open the internet site http://www.zooomr.com/photos/jerjer/1065293/. Operation aborted." OKing this irrecoverably throws one out of zooomr... The same with: http://www.zooomr.com/photos/guszka/962321/

Pointing at links e.g. the "quote post" link, changes its color from blue to white, on white background - can anything be done? The "delete post" is just fine... Doesn't happen to me, what browser? (Fx 2.0.0.6 / WinXP x32 here) The only thing that changes for me is that an underline is added when hovering over the link. The distinction between photographic-theme groups, and discussion groups such as this one, is a bit fuzzy... at least for a flickr renegade... can we have some order in terminology? Enlighten me on this one... what does it matter? A group is a group. Zooomr doesn't have "group picture pools" in the same vein as Flickr. does anybody know whether the above issues are apparent also in the pro account? 1) Help would obviously be a global page, and Pro/Free wouldn't have anything to do with it. 2) The site scheme doesn't really change between normal and free. 3) See above (but it won't change if you are or aren't a pro).

VxJasonxV - thanks for replying. It's IE6.0.2900.(long list),problem happens to other links as well. The "delete post" is in a different font and its background changes to red upon hovering. The groups issue - I see. No picture groups - no real need for distinction. NOW I'm aware. It's useful to know there's no difference between free/pro. Thanks again.

I'm not too sure if it's been mentioned before, but would it be possible to have an email notification if someone replies to a dialogue you've started on their photo. It would be useful since you'll know when he/she replies to a question you've posted regarding the photo.

So. After uploading a photo, one must log out of zooomr and log back in again, to be able to upload another one... I guess SOMEONE must have remarked on this before... Sorry to sound so negative all the time, but I'm really trying to find a workable substitute for flickr...

darel, it used to be possible. I'm sure that Kris is planning to re-implement it some time. For now, Tom has detailed a very rough method for viewing activity on your photos here: http://www.zooomr.com/groups/epicenter/discuss/832/djotai, I haven't heard of your upload troubles before. Zooomr features a web-based batch uploader which allows you to upload an unlimited amount of photos in one shot. The most that I have uploaded in one shot is 100 photos. I have heard that some Linux users are limited to one photo at a time, but they don't have to go through the log out/in process that you mentioned. Have you tried uploading in a different browser, perhaps Firefox?

James Huff - thanks for replying, I think that having to change my surfing habits just to accomodate zoomr is somewhat going overboard... haven't tried Firefox as I've been perfectly happy with my IE for the last 4 years. I'd be hesitant to batch upload such a vast amount at once, untill I'm sure it really works - having to check what went thruogh and what not is SOME nuisance... from my experience, problems with a few are not mitigated by increasing the numbers. BTW, This, and all my other observations, happened also on my computer at work, so they don't seem to be computer related issues.

|

Well, you wouldn't have to change all of your surfing habits to accommodate Zooomr. I'm just suggesting that you might want to think of Firefox as your "Zooomr uploading application", at least until they get this bug fixed.
|
|
|
Thank you James, but I think I'll pass on that one for the time being.

Thanks for that, though it's not exactly what I was looking for. Was thinking of something about a notification when another member replies on his own photo after you start a dialogue over there, so it's not exactly your photo you're trying to find out about.

Oh, I see what you mean now, sorry for not understanding before. I agree, that would be a nice feature to have. The only site that I can think of offering such a feature right now is Newsvine.
