Topic: Which colors are you?

So now that we have the ability to modify our account, what colors have you chosen for your Zooomr theme?

Returned to default quickly. This feature is useless IMHO, wasted coding time. I was expecting something like on SmugMug where you can customize your own page for others to see.

And it can yield funny results: http://www.zooomr.com/photos/ignorant/4399472/

(Just had a look at the source code: there's a style element within the body element -- fortunately parsing/rendering engines are very forgiving …)

How do you use that feature? I can't find any link to it, or even anything that says "your account".

I would have expected it on my profile page. But alas, it's quite well hidden: click on your name at the the top of the page, where it says "Hello, Don".

set it to black...my intent was based on the fact that a computer uses the least amount of energy producing black over any other color. sadly, most of screens remains white.

You must be a pretty hardcore Zooomr fan for you to even worry about that!

(edit: saves power when using CRTs)

Thanks. That helped.

Making your LCD screen black does not save any power. All you are doing is making the pixels black so that they block the light from the back light in your display. The back light in your laptop or desktop LCD display is always on when the screen is active. The only way to save power is to dim the back light, or turn it off if you have a display that is transreflective.

I second the vote that the new display color feature is unnecessary and mostly useless to me. If I wanted a tutti fruity page theme, I'd sign up or Myspace... Oh and what's with the smiling clouds on the right side of the page?!?! Now if I could have pink Hello Kitties on my screen, then maybe I'd find the feature useful... ;-P

Kris has just changed the way this feature works: Now others can see your customizations as well.

Let's see … Hello Kitty? … Spongebob? … No, I'll go for something else … Hey now! :-)

[Edit: Okay, I replaced the Dead skullfuck steal your face thingy with something more decent.]
